Canadian Women's Pool Tour Championship Stop 2009

It was nice to return to the tour after giving birth to baby Navan. I seems to be more focused ont he game even though I had not had much time to practice. The players meeting was nice, there will be some changes for the better to the tour for next year. Farewell to Carolina as CEO and Sue Sepp will take over most responsibilities. The top prizes were given to the players absent due to the World Championships in China. They are 1st place-Brittany Bryant, 2nd place- Naomi Williams, 3rd place- Veronique Menard.

The tournament had 16 or so players. It was a handicapped event.

I played Grace Nakamura in the first round. It was hill-hill. It came down to the last three balls, I missed the seven ball, she ran it out.

The second game was with Carolina Fernandez, Founder of the CWPT, she played well, it cam hill- hill between us as well. It came down to a few final balls that I missed. She rightly won.

I will return next year to help with the tour as the marketer. See you in the next season.

CWPT Ottawa at Tailgators

There was a good turn out at the Tailgators in Ottawa on October 24-25, 2009. I had to face the World Junior Champion Brittany Bryant right off the hop. I was doing well to start, but being 9 months pregnant, due on Monday the 26th of October, I was really off balance. I did my best, made a couple mistakes that I should have used the rake on; in the end she won at a score of 9-1. She capitalized on all of my mistakes.

The next match I faced Christine Gauthier a strong challenger. We've had battles before where she had won. This time was different, I lead the match the whole way and won 9-1. I played the game right. I played safe when I needed to and took my time to make the shots. This victory felt good.

The next match I faced Denise Belanger, she has mostly won when I've played her, but I have won a couple times also. This time she got the win. I lost 9-2.

So I am out of the tournament this time. Naomi Williams won the tournament and Brittany Bryant placed second. These two players normally place high in every tournament. The final results of the Canadian Women's Pool tour are in and see cwpt.ca for those results.

The last event is the Tour championships to be held at VIP on Toronto on November 21-22, 2009

Canadian Women's Pool Tour 2009

I enjoy travelling to Montreal. Tony's LeSkratch Brossard is a great establishment with good food. I love their breakfast. I have been attending every tour stop on the Canadian Women's Pool Tour. This weekend was similar to the last. I am 8 months pregnant now and I have trouble on the long shots, so I'm forced to use the rake. I lost two straight again. I was bought in the calcutta by Darlene Gardiner, who's game has improved tremendously this year. She won 7-3. In the second match I faced Montreal player Farla Salmanovitch, wife of Pro Rodney Cuillerier, she started out strongly by running out after my dry break. I just couldn't catch my groove, she ran over me, I was out of the tournament. I could now relax and socialize a bit.

There was an amazing field of players at Montreal, many open players like Brittany Bryant, newly crowned Canadian 9-ball, 8-ball and Jr. Champion, quite the feat to hold three titles in one event. I'm sure that will be a record for while. Rachael Abbink, recently out with a dvd filmed with the Monk. Grace Nakamura, recently signed up with OB Cues. Naomi Williams who was the runner up against Brittany Bryant in the last CWPT event, and at the Canadians also. She still plays strong. A new face of Joanne Ashton is now on tour and looking to move to the Toronto area, listed on the Canadian Womens Professional Billiards Association tour to start in December. It was good to see a good sized group of women from quebec. Marie France Blanchette holds the quebec provincial title and participated also. Veronique Menard, the winner of the last event held at LeSkratch Brossard has a strong contender. Janet Ritcey and Sue Sepp played and ran the tournament.

The finals were between Naomi Williams and Brittany Bryant again, like last time. Brittany came out on top this time since the last. She came back with a vengence and played well. It was a good turn out and fun time for everyone. Next stop is in Ottawa at the Tailgators on October 24-25, 2009.
